Program Overview

HostSeq

On April 23, 2020, the Federal Government committed $40 million to support Genome Canada’s Canadian COVID-19 Genomics Network (CanCOGeN). Within this network, CGEn has led a nationwide Host Genome Sequencing Initiative – “HostSeq” – sequencing the genomes of Canadians affected by COVID-19 to help understand the genomic architecture of the host response to disease.

HostSeq is providing a first-of-its-kind Canadian genomic and clinical databank that is broadly consented for health research, giving Canadian scientists access to a rich dataset to help analyze and identify genetic determinants of health from a Canadian perspective.

Apply for access to the HostSeq Databank!

Quick Facts

  • HostSeq is collecting 10,000+ genomic and clinical data records
  • Consent has been obtained for COVID-19 and other health research

The Data Access Compliance Office (DACO) handles requests from scientists for controlled access to  HostSeq data.
